Happy Monday you Beautiful Bunch!
So we let Instagram stories decide today's post and you all wanted to know what 5 foundations are my top, so I am here to spill the tea.
Makeup is a passion/addiction of mine and a base is the key to a whole look it can make or break any glam. I have drawers and drawers of foundations but always come back to these 5, want to know why? Keep scrolling!
Milani, Milani, Milani...
I have such a love affair with this foundation. This was my first real obsession with a base product. It has a full and I mean FULL coverage with a satin/dewy finish. I never have a bad face day with this foundation however I always seem to forget about it.
I run out and decide to try other foundations and then wonder why I ever stopped using it. It is perfect for my dry skin as it brings that life back. I have gone through two bottles of it this year because I know it performs so I always gravitate towards it.
I haven't had anybody who has brought this and not loved it as much as I have,
The only issue with it is when you run low the pump gives up, so you end up scraping the remaining of the product out the bottle. But for the quality of the formula I am prepared to do that.
You all know my love for Makeup Revolution. Well, the whole of Revolution Beauty if I am honest. When I saw the sneak peeks for this foundation I knew it would be a dupe for the Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation and girl was I correct! I haven't touched my Hourglass foundation since. It is IDENTICAL in formula it is full coverage, dewy as hell & so buttery to apply. It is seamless and perfect for on the go. If you are oily this foundation will be too dewy for you but with the right setting powder you have that Desi Perkins glowwwwww.
I cannot get enough of this foundation stick, If my skin is looking lifeless I can fake a good glow with this. It gives you that summer iridescent shine without the sun & for £5 you cannot go wrong.
This was a discovery i made in NYC & I am so glad I took the chance with this foundation. If you love the Milani Conceal + Define but it is too dewy for you then this is your new baby. It is so similar to the Milani Foundation but without the hi-sheen it is more of a natural finish and has less coverage at a medium/buildable formula. I love this for my work/errands days because it is so natural and skin like. I am just about to re-purchase my second bottle of this I am honestly really impressed with the formula!
Who even knew that Nip+Fab launched Makeup?! I saw on Instagram last week that they had a a whole makeup line and was so shook to my core. It looks amazing & if you have read our Acne Post you will know we are already loving their teen skin range.
I wasn't too sure about their makeup collection or even where to start with what to review so I picked up a foundation ( my safe choice) .
I have only owned this foundation for a week and I know its going to be a part of my permanent collection. It is a medium coverage but it literally feels like you have nothing on. I honestly do not know what they have put in this foundation but my skin looks like a supermodels skin when I have this on! It's slightly matte but not the crack on your face type ( if you know what I mean ) your face also feels so soft after wearing this i'm sure they have put some of that skincare magic inside the formula. It looks airbrushed and natural all at the same time I am obsessed.
Do you want me to test the Nip+Fab Makeup Range? Let me know on instagram @jadeallesse and I pick some more of the range up.
You know at Beauty Basics we are all about saving that coin! I honestly try to keep it affordable on this website and only speak up on high end products I think it is worth the money or if I cannot find a dupe for it.
A few years ago I was invited to a makeup master class at Chanel and they did my makeup and taught me a few things about applying and perfecting their products for that flawless look. I never got the name of the foundation ( rookie mistake) they used on me and I have been searching for it ever since. My mother in law like the gem she is found the foundation for me and I am still as overwhelmed by this foundation as I was when I first used it.
My skin doesn't look like my skin with this foundation on, but in a good way, It looks flawless.
This is a light/medium but buildable coverage and the sheen is out of this world. It is like a strobe cream highlight but with a colour that makes you look so healthy. It is so luminous I actually cannot cope. This is one of those foundations that you don't need to set as it doesn't move around the face it is like a skin replica with magical chanel things inside to make you look and feel like luxury. You honestly do not look like you have foundation on with this.
I would use this everyday for the rest of my existence if it wasn't for the £40 a bottle price tag. I am currently on a hunt for a dupe for this though so watch this space!
Thank you so much for reading this post! I hope you love the my favourite foundations as much as I do. If you test them out tag me on Instagram @jadeallesse or use the #beautybasicsblog I love seeing you trying out my looks and recommendations!
